CHOPIN BARCAROLLE III

You will find even more performances on this page entitled Chopin Barcarolle III.  Some of the best are to be found here as well as I have presented the pianists in their chronological order, so be sure to look for more of your favorites below.

I have just come upon the recordings by Nikolaj Orloff, John Bell Young (the 1997 performance which is to my ear vastly superior to the previously included 1995 performance), George Walker and Cyril Smith, and add them to my favorites too.r

Also on this page is a recording by Angela Lear, perhaps the greatest of the unsung performers of Chopin.  Unlike the Majority of pianists who claim not to have the time to consult Chopin's original manuscripts, Ms. Lear has done so.  Her performances of Chopin are Among the very finest I know, and at her hands the structure of each piece made transparent.  Pity the recorded sound of the Chopin Barcarolle video is so poor, but her CDs of the complete works of Chopin hold a prized position in my collection.

If you want to compare a performance on this page with one on one of the other Chopin Barcarolle pages, use these links: Chopin Barcarolle and Chopin Barcarolle II.
