Marie Gabrielle Roszborska
(Leschetizky)
Polish pianist (1880 - ?)

Marie Gabrielle Roszborska Leschetizky was a late pupil of the great Leschetizky, and his last wife.  I have not been able to find out much about her and only three recordings are available here to be heard.  She was obviously a very fine pianist, Leschetizky only took on advanced students, and judging from the Brahms Capriccio she was also a superior musician.

Mozart  Gigue in G major

piano roll

Leschetizky  Scherzo, Op 47~2

piano roll

Brahms  Capriccio in F minor, Op 76~1

ca1910 piano roll

For those of you who enjoy murder mysteries, here is my first with a strong musical polemic as background

Murder in the House of the Muse

which is also available as an audiobook.

And this is the more recently published second mystery in the series:

Murder Follows the Muse
