VLADIMIR FELTSMAN MASTERCLASS
Bach and Chopin

Here are a few examples of a Vladimir Feltsman Masterclass. Feltsman is an extraordinary pianist and musician with a luscious singing tone and a deep insight into the music he plays. It is not possible to judge from the brief examples below whether he is able to communicate his ideas verbally to his students as we have seen in the masterclasses of Barenboim , Bolet , and especially Stephen Hough . But his ability to demonstrate how a passage should be played is unsurpassed. We can only assume, and hope, that he is able to help his students achieve the desired results.

Feltsman's performances of Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and others are memorable. One quite simply cannot live without his recordings of the Bach Goldberg Variations and the complete Well Tempered Clavier.

If Vladimir Feltsman is successful in imparting some of his wisdom and skill to a new generation of pianists, even if he is only able to show them how to make the piano sing as he does, we may be in for a treat.
